23h 9 January 1952.

  1. I am to enclose the accompanying paper showing particulars of Mr Savage's service & the pension for which he is eligible in respect of his Colonial Service. Mr Savage has been in the service the whole period of his employment from the 1 Aug 1883 hitherto & has been eligible for pension £330 & £187.

I am to add that Mr Savage's retirement is partly to his own intemperance & it has been directed that a reduction of ten percent (£9.8.10) is to be made from the pension of £94.8.4 to which he is actually eligible.
